EMPLOYMENT LAW: SALARY
Salary: Singapore Minimum Wage
Unlike some other countries, Singapore does not have a nationwide minimum wage. This means that salaries are generally determined by market forces, industry standards, and individual negotiations.
To address the issue of low wages in certain sectors, Singapore has implemented the Progressive Wage Model (PWM). This model sets out wage progressions for specific industries, such as cleaning, security, and landscape. It aims to uplift the earnings of lower-wage workers through skills upgrading and increased productivity.
